When can they take that mid-engined Corvette, wrap it in a Cadillac body, and call it a Cien?

Some similarity to the Buick Avista, though clearly not the same.

I changed it, but it was too late.

New Mirage or GTFAC.
Seriously, though - take CTS coupe, add trunk, sell as “truck”, reap CAFE shenanigans.

Oh many the Avista was so good looking.

Yeah, I thought it was a pretty sharp design. But perhaps GM hasn’t given up on the idea of building a luxury GT car on the Camaro platform.

I wonder if they’re going to drop a sedan (the ATS), but this keeps a coupe on the platform.

Somehow I picture a redneck swimming pool in it if that exists today.

It better be a 5-door liftback. 4 Gran Coupes sell like hot cakes around my area... but then it could also be because of lease rates and residuals better than the 3.

Cadillac could probably make a great looking A7.
![]() 07/12/2018 at 12:46 |

More like an A5 Sportback.

CT5 is coming to replace the A/CTS. This coupe will probably be related to that car in some way.

under his breath - the OG A7 is better looking.

The luxury coupe market at that level is so thin, I’ll be shocked if Cadillac under its current management ever produces one. But I can dream. If they really did make a low-volume, over the top Ciel like car, I bet there would be a clientele for it. But it’d have to be really undiluted concept and top flight, not something you’d ever see on a dealer lot.

I think they will make a fine contender for big daddy grand tourers, like the 8 series, SL, etc...

I’d love to see that.

They already tried this with the Escalade EXT.

I’d really like to see them find a use for some of their traditional model names - they’ve got a lot of equity, and even after being gone for a long time, probably resonate with the public a lot better than the names they use now.
Not saying they need to ditch the CT/XT alphanumerics, there’s several reasons why they probably have to stay, but maybe use “Fleetwood” as the top trim level on sedans, “Eldorado” to designate coupe models, and “Biarritz” to designate convertibles, if any. So, the coupe version of the CT5 sedan would be “CT5 Eldorado”, and a long wheelbase version of the CT6 with an upgraded interior would become “CT6 Fleetwood”.
